In various industrial heating furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, and petrochemical cracking furnaces, high-temperature springs play an important role in supporting, sealing, and compensating.
Components inside the furnace, such as radiation tube brackets, furnace roller bearing seats, etc., often use high-temperature springs as elastic support elements. These springs are exposed to high temperature radiation and convection in the furnace for a long time, bearing the gravity load of equipment and workpieces. With temperature fluctuations, the furnace structure will undergo thermal expansion and contraction, and high-temperature springs can absorb these displacements to maintain the stability of the support system. For example, in a walking beam heating furnace, the supporting spring of the movable beam needs to be repeatedly compressed at a high temperature of around 1000 ℃, which requires the spring material to have good high-temperature creep resistance.
High temperature springs are also commonly used in furnace door sealing mechanisms. In order to prevent furnace gas leakage, the furnace door clamping device usually uses springs to apply pre tension force. At high temperatures, if the spring experiences stress relaxation and the sealing force decreases, it will lead to heat loss and unstable furnace pressure. Therefore, Inconel 718 or Nimonic series alloys are often selected for this type of spring, and a larger initial compression capacity is designed to compensate for the relaxation during long-term use.
The positioning snap ring inside the radiation tube and the reset spring of the burner nozzle are also typical applications of high-temperature springs. When designing and selecting, it is necessary to calculate the stress level of the spring at the highest working temperature and reserve sufficient safety margin. At the same time, considering the oxidizing or reducing nature of the atmosphere inside the furnace, it is necessary to coat the surface of the spring for protection.
