According to the shape, it can be divided into: coil spring, scroll spring, leaf spring, disc spring, ring spring, special-shaped spring, etc.;

According to the production process, it can be divided into cold coil springs and hot coil springs; according to the production materials, it can be divided into metal springs, plastic springs, rubber springs and other material springs.

The main functions of the spring are:

1. Control the movement of machinery, common control springs in clutches and valve springs in internal combustion engines;

2. Absorb vibration and impact energy, common ones are sofa seat springs, buffer springs under train carriages, and vibration-absorbing springs in couplings;

3. Store and output energy as power, the common ones are clock springs, springs in firearms, etc.;

4. Force measuring elements, force measuring instruments, spring scales, etc. The spring also has a measuring function, a reset function, a driving function, a buffering function, a sounding function, and a pressing function. Compression springs are mainly under pressure during work, have the function of resisting and buffering pressure, and are widely used in machinery. The tension spring is mainly used to bear the tension during work, and is used for the reset of the mechanism, and is widely used in machinery. The torsion spring mainly bears the torsion moment when working, has the performance of resisting torsion, and is often used for clamping the mechanism. Leaf springs are mainly under pressure during work, mainly used for shock absorption, and are often used in the suspension mechanisms of automobiles and tractors. Flat scroll springs mainly store energy during operation, and are widely used in clocks, instruments, and experimental equipment. Disc springs are mainly subjected to pressure during work, and are often used on heavy machinery and equipment with large impact forces.
